Pat + Sam

Pat and Sam are the kind of couple you instantly feel at ease around. They’ve been together for 10 years — high school sweethearts who’ve been through it all — and now they’re planning the next chapter. We met up in West Chester for their engagement session since that’s where they went to college, and it honestly couldn’t have been a better spot. We found this little park right in town that felt tucked away, but still full of light and energy.

At the start of the session, they were a little nervous — totally normal — but once we got moving with some light prompts, they eased right into it. I usually start with simple movements, like walking past each other and brushing hands or swaying together. From there, everything started to feel really natural. They were just focused on each other, and I could tell how much they were enjoying it. The best part of sessions like this is watching people realize they don’t need to “perform” — just be present.

Pat and Sam have this connection that doesn’t need to be explained. It’s calm, loving, and caring all at once. You can tell they’re just genuinely happy to be around each other. Getting to photograph them was extra special because I’ve known them for a while — so watching them step into this season and getting to document it was such a cool full-circle moment.

If you’re engaged and want photos that actually feel like you — without the awkwardness or pressure to pose perfectly — I got you. I’ll guide the whole thing, you just bring yourselves.
